44th Ottawa International Animation Festival

This Canadian animation festival is entering its 44th year and it intends to be as spectacular as always despite being online in this edition. This festival is a unique combination of art and industry with some of the quirkiest animation takes being showcased alongside virtual workshops and talks. A great way for an animation student to get their feet wet, this animation festival is certainly one that stands out this year.
The Ottawa International Animation Festival provides a healthy mix of kid friendly content and thought-provoking adult friendly works, exclusive networking opportunities and the chance to showcase your art- wherever you may be! Be a part of something bigger in the animation world by attending vibrant virtual after parties, 1-1 coaching sessions on tips and tricks in the animation and so much more!

Call for Animation Entries: Tricky Women/Tricky Realities 2021

Like most industries the animation one isn’t exempt from having problems with female representation. Tricky Women/Tricky Realities is one of the pioneers to showcase some of the best female animation artists from all around the world. This international competition has been taking place for over 20 years and will make its return from the 10th – 14th March 2021.
The past years have shown works from Korea, China, Austria, Germany and so much more. The lively collection of female perspectives from all over the world provide an interesting take on being a female in the 21st century- wherever that may be!
Tricky Worldwide aims to be a hub of talent and representation for female animation filmmakers who need a platform for their voice. Their artist and residency program has helped launched many a career from Dahee Jeong to Anais Caura.

Cyberpunk 2077 Takes Best of Gamescom Award

Looking to improve on your video game repertoire? Everyone we know has dabbled with a little bit of gaming in 2020. Look no further that the recent winner at Gamescom 2020 ‘Cyberpunk 2077’.
