PARTNER SCREENING

MINIKINO PARTNER SCREENING (2160 x 1080 px)

This special programme marks the first collaboration between Cartoons Underground and Minikino Film Week. In August 2023, Cartoons Underground curated a selection of animated short films from Singapore that have been selected in previous editions of the festival, and this programme was screened as part of Minikino Monthly Screening August that travelled to places like Bali, Tangerang and Cirebon.

As part of this unique partnership, Minikino have selected ten short films from Southeast Asia that aim to introduce audiences to the animation film landscape within the Southeast Asia region. Most of these films were discovered through recommendations from Minikino's network, S-Express programmers in Thailand, Brunei, and Laos, the cinemata platform, Engage Media, and the Chaktomuk Short Film Festival. What would we do without our neighbors? We hope that the selection provides a diverse and exciting perspective for the present and future of Southeast Asian animation.

Join us on November 11, 2023 for a one-time only screening featuring Southeast Asian stories.
